
Sarfaraz Ahmed, former Pakistan captain and wicketkeeper-batter, announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket on March 15, 2026. Over nearly two decades, he played 54 Tests, 117 ODIs, and 61 T20Is, scoring 6,164 runs and taking 315 catches with 56 stumpings. Sarfaraz led Pakistan to victories in the 2006 ICC U-19 World Cup and the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, becoming the only Pakistani captain to win major ICC titles at both junior and senior levels. Following his retirement, he is expected to be appointed head coach of Pakistan's Test team and currently serves as a mentor and selection committee member.
