Assam Cricket Association Launches Assam Premier League with Eight Franchise Teams
The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) officially launched the Assam Premier League (APL), a franchise-based T20 tournament featuring eight teams representing different regions of the state. The inaugural matches will be broadcast on Star Sports and streamed on JioHotstar. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the league as a key platform for nurturing local cricket talent. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia praised the initiative for strengthening domestic cricket and providing competitive exposure to emerging players in Assam.
