The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has recognized the shortened 2025-26 Indian Super League (ISL) season, granting indirect qualification slots to the Asian Champions League 2 for the ISL and Super Cup winners. Due to a delayed start, clubs will play only 16 matches instead of the mandatory 24, making them ineligible for direct slots. AIFF thanked AFC for accommodating India's request amid exceptional circumstances. Mohun Bagan Super Giant remains ineligible due to an ongoing AFC ban.
