The Central Government has announced that select provisions of the National Sports Governance Act, 2025, will come into effect on January 1, 2026. This legislation aims to govern the functioning of national sports federations, including the National Olympic Committee and National Paralympic Committee. The notified sections establish a governance framework, outline compliance requirements for recognized sports organizations, and set up a National Sports Tribunal.
