Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is expected to be appointed as the head coach of Pakistan's Test cricket team, filling a vacancy since Azhar Mahmood's interim tenure ended last year. The 38-year-old, who led Pakistan to the 2017 Champions Trophy title and recently mentored the Asia Cup-winning U19 side, is set to take charge ahead of the two-Test series against Bangladesh in May, part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle. Pakistan currently ranks fifth in the WTC standings and aims to improve under his leadership.
