
Koneru Humpy secured a bronze medal at the FIDE Women's World Rapid Championship in Doha, Qatar, after a final round draw placed her third based on tie-break rules. She finished tied on 8.5 points with Russia's Aleksandra Goryachkina and China's Zhu Jiner, with Goryachkina ultimately winning the title. In the Open section, Magnus Carlsen claimed his sixth World Rapid title. Humpy's bronze medal also secured her a spot in the 2026 Candidates Tournament.
