Virat Kohli has become the fastest player to reach 28,000 international runs, achieving the milestone in his 624th innings during the first ODI against New Zealand. He surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's previous record of 644 innings. Kohli is now the third player in cricket history to cross 28,000 runs, joining Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara, and has moved to second place for most international runs, behind Tendulkar. The record was set during India's run chase in Vadodara.
