
India is set to launch its first franchise-based Cycling League in November in Ahmedabad, featuring eight teams with a mix of international and Indian cyclists, including juniors to nurture emerging talent. The league will include diverse race formats across three phases, culminating in a grand finale. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted this as a key step to professionalize cycling and promote fitness nationwide, complementing initiatives like 'Sundays on Cycle' which has engaged millions across India.
