Pune Grand Tour Begins with International Cyclists and Indian Teams Competing

The Pune Grand Tour cycling race commenced with a prologue stage featuring 171 riders from 29 teams across 35 countries, including two Indian teams: the Indian National Team and the Indian Development Team. Australian cyclist Fergus Browning of the Terengganu Cycling Team won the opening prologue with a time of 8:05.89, earning the Yellow Jersey. Indian riders like Sachin Desai and notable cyclists Naveen John and Surya Ramesh Thathu are among the participants. The event offers qualification points for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and is expected to span five days.
