Harry Brook has become the fastest batter in the world to reach 3000 Test runs, achieving the milestone in 3468 balls. He reached this record during the Boxing Day Test against Australia in Melbourne. Brook also holds the joint-second-fastest English record for 3000 Test runs in terms of innings, taking 57 innings, matching Denis Compton. This achievement places him ahead of former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist, who previously held the record for fastest to 3000 runs by balls faced.
