Fourteen top-tier football clubs have urged the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to inquire with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) about retaining India's continental berths despite a potentially truncated season. Clubs expressed their desire to start the season in early February but are concerned that proposed formats, which may not meet AFC's minimum match criteria, could jeopardize their Asian Champions League spots. They also seek cost-saving measures and potential shared funding for the season, which currently lacks a central revenue pool and has seen sponsors withdraw.
