The Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) announced a historic $100 million capital commitment from ten franchise partners across major Indian cities, marking the largest private investment in Indian golf. Each franchise pledged about $10 million over ten years to professionalize and expand the sport. Partners also committed $250 million for infrastructure development, including accessible golf facilities in smaller cities. IGPL plans global expansion across India, Africa, and the Middle East, aiming to operate in five countries within four years. CEO Uttam Singh Mundy described this as a strategic, multi-decade investment in sports and business growth.
