BCCI Considers Advancing IPL 2027 Schedule to Early March to Avoid Weather Issues
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering advancing the IPL schedule from 2027 to start around March 10 and conclude by May 15. This change aims to avoid extreme heat and pre-monsoon rains that affect players and spectators during the traditional late May period. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed ongoing discussions within the IPL Governing Council and instructed officials to explore suitable windows. The tournament format will remain unchanged with 74 matches due to international calendar constraints.
