Kolkata Knight Riders Retain Ajinkya Rahane as Captain for IPL 2026 Season

Kolkata Knight Riders have confirmed Ajinkya Rahane will continue as their captain for the IPL 2026 season. Despite a disappointing IPL 2025 where KKR won only 5 of 14 matches and exited at the league stage, the franchise expressed confidence in Rahane's leadership. Rahane, who scored 390 runs in 12 innings last season, will lead the team under new head coach Abhishek Nayar. The team also released Shreyas Iyer ahead of the 2025 mega-auction.
