Mhatre and vice-captain Vihaan Malhotra will miss the South Africa tour due to wrist injuries, reporting for rehabilitation before joining the World Cup squad. Both Mhatre and Malhotra are included in the World Cup squad, with Suryavanshi and Aaron George also part of the World Cup team. The U19 World Cup is scheduled for January 15 to February 6 in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
