At least five people were injured during a Jallikattu event held as part of Sankranti celebrations in Kotha Shanambatla village, Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh. The traditional Tamil Nadu sport, involving participants attempting to tame charging bulls, turned chaotic when bulls charged into the crowd. Approximately 200 bulls from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka were brought for the event. Injured participants received medical attention.
