Indian Runner Pooja Aatmaram Provisionally Suspended by AIU for Evading Doping Test

Indian long-distance runner Pooja Aatmaram has been provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for evading a doping test, under Article 2.3 of the World Anti-Doping Agency's code. Pooja, who competes in the 5000m and 10,000m events, achieved her best result by finishing third in the Indian Grand Prix 2 in 2024. The AIU issued a Notice of Allegation citing refusal or failure to submit to sample collection without compelling justification. The Athletics Federation of India recently announced stricter qualification standards for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
