The Indian Navy's stitched sailing vessel, INSV Kaundinya, inspired by Ajanta Cave paintings, has begun its first overseas journey from Porbandar, Gujarat, to Muscat, Oman. The 65-foot vessel, constructed using traditional stitched-plank methods and natural materials, aims to revive ancient maritime routes and highlight India's rich seafaring heritage. The voyage, with 18 sailors, also seeks to strengthen cultural connections with Oman.
