Google has introduced Personal Intelligence, a new feature in its Gemini AI that allows users to link select Google apps like Gmail, Photos, YouTube, and Search to provide more personalized and context-aware responses. This feature, off by default and opt-in, enables Gemini to retrieve specific details from connected apps to assist with tasks such as planning, shopping, and information retrieval while maintaining user control and privacy. Currently in beta for paid US subscribers, Google plans wider rollout and integration with Search AI Mode. The update aims to enhance Gemini's reasoning and personalization capabilities, though Google notes limitations in handling nuanced personal topics.
