Porsche Unveils 911 GT4 R Race Car with 4.0-Litre Engine for 2027 Debut
Porsche has unveiled the 911 GT4 R, its first GT4 race car based on the 911 platform rather than the 718 Cayman. Featuring a 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine producing up to 520 hp unrestricted and 430 hp under GT4 Balance of Performance rules, the car offers enhanced handling, advanced electronics, and aerodynamic improvements. Set to debut in the 2027 racing season, the GT4 R will compete globally alongside the existing Cayman-based GT4 model, providing teams with a higher-performance option.
