Google has launched its Emergency Location Service (ELS) in India, a feature for Android phones designed to provide emergency responders with accurate location data during crises. The service automatically activates when a user calls or texts emergency numbers like 112, using GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular data for precise positioning. Uttar Pradesh is the first state to fully integrate ELS with its 112 emergency response system, following a successful pilot program. This initiative aims to improve response times and aid in locating individuals, even if calls are dropped.
