AIIMS and Google are collaborating to develop an AI-powered app, Indus Derma, aimed at improving access to dermatological care, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas of India. The app will allow users to upload photos of skin conditions along with basic information. Advanced AI will analyze the image to suggest potential diagnoses, advise on the need for a dermatologist referral, and offer general skincare tips and management suggestions. This initiative seeks to address the shortage of dermatologists outside major cities.
