India's CERT-In has issued a high-severity security warning for Windows PC users concerning vulnerabilities in motherboards from brands like Asus, MSI, AMD, and Gigabyte. The alert, dated December 24, 2025, highlights risks from improper DMA protection enforcement during early boot phases, potentially allowing local attackers with physical access to exploit malicious PCIe devices. This could grant unauthorized system memory access before the operating system loads. Software patches are reportedly available from the affected companies.
