The Indian government, through the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), is inviting state governments to submit proposals for establishing Artificial Intelligence (AI) centers of excellence. This initiative, part of the 10,371.92 crore IndiaAI Mission, aims to expand computing infrastructure, boost research and development, and support startups, positioning India as a leader in AI within the Global South. Funds will be released as proposals are approved, with a focus on sector-specific centers.
