European Space Agency Details Martian Ice Age Features Observed by Mars Express

The European Space Agency (ESA) has shared details and images of an ancient ice age on Mars, revealed by geological features captured by the Mars Express spacecraft. These features include "Coloe Fossae," formed by falling ground, and patterns of swirling lines on valley and crater floors, known as Lineated Valley Fill (LVF) and Concentric Crater Fill (CCF), indicating past icy debris flows and ice accumulation. Glacier-like features called Lobate Debris Aprons (LDA) were also observed at mid-latitudes, suggesting past glacial activity during alternating warm and cold periods on the planet.
