China has commissioned Unit 2 of the Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant, featuring its domestically developed Hualong One reactor, marking the full operation of the plant's first phase. This third-generation reactor design enhances safety and efficiency. The Zhangzhou site is planned for six reactors, with Units 3 and 4 under construction and preparatory work for Units 5 and 6. Once complete, the facility is expected to significantly contribute to China's baseload power supply.
