Delhi's Transport Department plans to pilot AI-enabled bus shelters at 10 locations, including New Delhi and near the High Court, to provide real-time information on bus routes, frequency, and waiting times. These shelters will feature speakers and buttons for commuters to access updates, aiming to reduce confusion and improve passenger experience. The system will also help the Delhi Transport Corporation track daily passenger counts by gender. Following the pilot, the government intends to redevelop all 1,397 bus shelters under a public-private partnership model.
