The Indian Air Force's Software Development Institute (SDI) and IIT Madras have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly design and develop an indigenous digital communication system for airborne applications. This collaboration aims to foster self-reliance in defence technology, aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. The partnership will focus on developing advanced algorithms for secure networking and encryption, crucial for modern military operations and networked warfare, thereby reducing reliance on imported systems and enhancing strategic capabilities.
