A fully driverless robotaxi service, operating at Level 4 autonomy, has been launched in Abu Dhabi, UAE, marking the first such operation outside the United States. The service, a collaboration between WeRide and Uber, allows passengers to book and unlock the vehicle via the Uber app. Inside, a central tablet manages navigation and ride updates. Initial passenger accounts describe the experience as safe, with the vehicle smoothly handling traffic, braking for pedestrians, and navigating independently within designated zones.
