China's National Medical Products Administration has approved the country's first invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) device for commercial use, designed to help adult patients with paralysis from spinal cord injuries regain hand movement. Developed by Shanghai-based companies Neuracle Technology and Borui Kang Medical Technology, the system includes implanted brain sensors and a robotic glove. The approval aligns with China's strategic focus on BCI as a future industry, aiming to advance practical applications within three to five years and compete with US firms like Neuralink.
