Chinese researchers at the Northwest Institute of Nuclear Technology have developed the TPG1000Cs, a compact high-power microwave weapon system capable of delivering up to 20 gigawatts of power for about 60 seconds. Weighing around five tonnes and measuring four meters, it is smaller than previous models, potentially allowing deployment on trucks, ships, aircraft, or satellites. The weapon aims to disrupt satellite electronics non-kinetically, offering a reversible alternative to missile strikes, though its real-world effectiveness remains unverified.
