Agnikul Cosmos to Launch Prototype AI Data Centre in Space by End of 2024

Chennai-based Agnikul Cosmos plans to launch a prototype AI data centre in low Earth orbit by the end of 2024, aiming for commercial viability by 2027. Developed with Bengaluru-based NeevCloud, the centre will focus on AI inference, which requires less energy than training models. Hosting the data centre on rocket upper stages leverages abundant solar energy and efficient cooling in space. This initiative addresses growing global data storage demands and challenges faced by terrestrial data centres.
