Indian Railways has commissioned the indigenously developed automatic train protection system, Kavach, on the 96-km Bajwa-Ahmedabad route in Western Railway. This highly technology-intensive system automatically applies brakes to prevent accidents due to signal passed at danger, overspeeding, and collisions. The system covers 17 stations and is now fully functional, enhancing operational safety on this critical section.
