
Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky reported blocking over 47 million web-based threats in India during 2025, affecting 24.7% of internet users. On average, users faced about 130,209 threats daily. India ranked 62nd globally for users impacted by web threats. Browser-based attacks exploiting vulnerabilities and file-less malware were primary threat methods. Globally, malicious email attacks increased by 15%, with the Asia Pacific region seeing the highest antivirus detections in emails. Cybercriminals also used advanced phishing techniques involving QR codes and link protection services.
