
Taiwan's TSMC has begun mass production of 2-nanometre (2nm) chips, the most advanced in the industry. These chips offer improved performance and energy efficiency, benefiting devices like smartphones, laptops, self-driving cars, and data centers, particularly for artificial intelligence applications. Producing these chips is extremely difficult and expensive, with TSMC currently leading the market, followed by competitors like Samsung and Intel who are still refining their processes.
