The Indian Army is set to become the first military to deploy ramjet-powered 155mm artillery shells, a technology developed with IIT Madras. These shells, which have successfully passed trials, are designed to significantly increase firing range by 30-50 km compared to conventional shells. This advancement aligns with the Army's broader strategy to standardize its artillery to the 155mm caliber for enhanced operational efficiency and simplified logistics.
