BSNL has launched its Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) service nationwide, enabling customers to make and receive calls using a Wi-Fi connection. This service aims to improve connectivity in areas with weak mobile signals, including rural and remote locations, provided a stable Wi-Fi connection is available. VoWiFi operates using the customer's existing mobile number and phone dialer without third-party apps, supports seamless handovers between Wi-Fi and mobile networks, and is offered at no extra cost. The rollout is part of BSNL's network modernization efforts to enhance services and compete with private operators.
