Narayana Health and Airbound Complete 700+ Drone Flights for Medical Sample Transport

Since January 2026, Narayana Health and Bengaluru-based Airbound have completed over 700 drone flights on a 4-km aerial route connecting Narayana Health's Chandapura clinic to its central laboratory in Electronic City. The drone service, operating on demand with up to 20 flights daily, replaced road transport, enabling faster sample processing and improved diagnostic turnaround. Narayana Health plans to expand this drone logistics model to its upcoming Banashankari hospital, pending regulatory approvals. Founder Dr. Devi Shetty highlighted potential cost reductions of up to 50% in lab tests through centralised diagnostics and automation.
