YouTube Adds Background Play and Downloads to Premium Lite Subscription

YouTube has enhanced its Premium Lite subscription by adding background play and offline downloads alongside ad-free viewing for most videos. Priced at Rs 89 per month in India, the plan allows users to listen to videos while using other apps and save content for offline access. However, these features exclude some videos, such as music content and Shorts, maintaining a distinction from the full Premium subscription. The update is rolling out in all markets where Premium Lite is available.
