Nvidia Forms Nemotron Coalition with Global AI Labs to Develop Open Foundation Models

Nvidia has launched the Nemotron Coalition, a global alliance of leading AI labs including India's Sarvam AI, France's Mistral AI, and Thinking Machines Lab founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati. Announced at Nvidia's GPU Technology Conference, the coalition aims to advance open frontier-level foundation models through shared research, data, and compute resources. Its first project is a base model co-developed by Nvidia and Mistral AI, trained on Nvidia's DGX Cloud, designed for post-training customization across industries and regions. Nvidia emphasizes the coalition's role in promoting transparency, collaboration, and inclusive AI development.
