Indian scientists are developing 3D-printed Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) as part of the government's Mission Mausam to enhance weather observation and forecasting. The first of these solar-powered stations will be installed in Delhi in February, with plans to expand to other major cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. These stations aim to eliminate data gaps and provide more accurate local forecasts by automatically measuring and transmitting parameters like temperature, wind, and humidity. Experts emphasize the need for proper calibration and maintenance to ensure data accuracy.
