ISRO successfully conducted a static test of an improved third stage (SS3) for its Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) at Sriharikota. The upgrade features a carbon-epoxy motor case, reducing stage mass and increasing SSLV's payload capacity by 90 kg. Enhancements to the igniter and nozzle system also improve efficiency and robustness. This successful test qualifies the improved SS3 motor for flight, supporting ISRO's goal of rapid, cost-effective small satellite launches and increased solid motor production capacity.
