Indian Man Demonstrates Seamless UPI Payment with Currency Conversion in Nepal

An Indian man, Anshuman Bhagat, shared a viral video demonstrating the use of India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for a seamless cross-border payment in Nepal. Using Google Pay on his Indian phone and bank account, he scanned a Nepalese merchant's QR code, with the app automatically converting Nepalese Rupees to Indian Rupees in real time without extra charges. While the experience was smooth, Bhagat noted that not all QR codes in Nepal currently support this feature, highlighting the expanding reach of India's digital payment system.
