Himachal Pradesh Develops AI-Enabled Smart Cities with Advanced Digital Governance

Himachal Pradesh is advancing its urban centers into AI-enabled smart cities while preserving its mountain ecosystem, according to the Chief Minister's Principal Advisor for IT and Innovation, Gokul Butail. The state leads India with a notified data hosting policy and offers over 550 AI-supported citizen services via the Him Seva Portal. Initiatives like the Him Data Portal, AI-based document verification, and paperless property registration through My Deed have enhanced governance efficiency and saved over Rs 60 crore annually. Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria praised these efforts as a model for other states.
