Amazon Launches AI Platform to Automate Healthcare Administrative Tasks

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched Amazon Connect Health, an AI-enabled platform designed to automate healthcare administrative tasks such as patient verification, appointment scheduling, medical history compilation, clinical documentation, and coding. The platform operates 24/7, transcribes doctor-patient conversations, drafts clinical notes, and generates patient-friendly summaries. It uses evidence mapping for transparency and undergoes multi-step safety and accuracy evaluations. UC San Diego Health reported time savings and reduced call abandonment, while Amazon One Medical has adopted the tool for over a million visits.
