UN Chief Praises India’s Leadership Ahead of Global AI Impact Summit 2026

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has praised India for its leadership in hosting the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, the first global AI summit held in the Global South, focusing on People, Planet, and Progress. Guterres will attend the summit in New Delhi on February 19-20. He also submitted a list of 40 experts, including IIT Madras Professor Balaraman Ravindran, to serve on a new independent international scientific panel on AI, aiming to guide multilateral solutions for emerging technologies and support capacity building in developing countries.
