Micron Acquires Taiwan Plant from PSMC, Plans Second Facility for Advanced Memory Production

Micron Technology has completed the acquisition of Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp.'s Tongluo plant in Miaoli, Taiwan, for $1.8 billion. The two companies will collaborate on advanced memory technologies, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and dynamic random access memory (DRAM) processes. Micron plans to build a second manufacturing facility at the site by the end of fiscal 2026 to expand production capacity and support growing AI-related demand.
