SoftBank Group has finalized its substantial investment in OpenAI, with reports indicating the completion of a $40 billion to $41 billion funding round. This significant capital infusion, led by SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, aims to bolster investments in artificial intelligence and related infrastructure. The deal, one of the largest private tech investments, grants SoftBank an approximately 11% stake in the ChatGPT parent company. The investment was reportedly completed in stages, with initial closings in early 2025.
