Roblox Implements Mandatory Age Verification for Chat Features in India

Roblox has introduced mandatory age verification in India starting January 14, requiring users to complete an age check to access chat features. The platform assigns users to six age groups, allowing chat primarily within similar age ranges to enhance safety. Users under nine have chat disabled by default but can enable it with parental consent. Roblox claims its facial age estimation technology is accurate and deletes images after processing. This rollout follows phased implementations in Australia, New Zealand, and the Netherlands.
