
The Trump administration has drafted strict guidelines for civilian AI contracts requiring companies to grant the US an irrevocable license for any lawful use of their models. This follows the Pentagon designating AI firm Anthropic as a "supply-chain risk" and barring its technology from military use amid disputes over the company's safeguards. The guidelines, proposed by the General Services Administration, also mandate that AI systems avoid encoding partisan or ideological judgments and disclose compliance with foreign regulations. The White House and GSA have not commented.
